Longtime NJVA Member Maria DePalma has passed away


Maria C. DePalma-Colasurdo, 46 of West Orange, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 23 at her residence after a courageous battle with Cancer.   Born November 23, 1965 in Hoboken, NJ she lived in Bloomfield for 10 years prior to moving to West Orange 5 years ago.  A Fine Arts major, she received her B.A. from Jersey City University and her M.A. from the University of Wisconsin.  She was the right hand of her husband’s business, Classic Video & Photography of West Orange.  She is the cherished wife of Bernard Colasurdo, beloved daughter of Joseph & Nancy DePalma, loving sister of Joseph DePalma, Jr., Camille Frixen & Michele Cruz.  She will also be remembered by her mother in law Theresa Colasurdo and her family and is survived by 15  nieces & nephews and many loving friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 27th & Monday, May 28th from 4:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. both days.  The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, May 29th beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the Branch Brook Memorial Home, 101 Union Ave., Belleville, NJ.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 60 Byrd Ave., Bloomfield, NJ.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
